On the Catuvella Star Sector

Of all the sectors within the Drucos Nebula, none stand so high in number nor so deep in consequence as the Catuvella Star Sector. It is the beating heart of the Star Commonwealth of Drala, its veins swollen with trade, war, and the restless stirrings of ambition.

At its center lies the ancient Feyan world of Lohna, now the most populous planet in the nebula. Once dismissed as a minor jewel in the Feyan Star Dominion, Lohna was left to decay after the Feyan Withdrawal, its sacred spires dimming beneath the dust of abandonment. Yet what the Feyan left behind, the Glessum Furse reclaimed. Slowly, steadily, the descendants of conquerors and mercenaries raised urban holdsteads from ruins, reforging Lohna into a titan of flesh and stone. Today, over twenty-five billion souls dwell upon its surface, and more than sixty billion are sworn to the Lohna Star System through its sprawling web of minor star systems.

The sector as a whole boasts a staggering eighty billion inhabitants, more than any other in the nebula. Yet it is not merely a haven of numbers. The convergence of the Feyan Star-Gate Networks in Lohna has made the system the axis upon which the commerce of the Dralan realms turns. Goods, fleets, pilgrims, spies, and whispers pass through its gates daily. He who controls Lohna does not merely govern a world, he holds sway over the lifeblood of Drala.

In truth, the sector’s history is one of fire and fracture. For centuries, Catuvella was the hunting ground of kings, the arena where crowns clashed and banners burned. Many star kingdoms rose and fell, but the Star Kingdom of Catuvella, where House Umbra Frostborn ruled from Camul with pride and precision, the Star Kingdom of Grim, shadowed and fierce were the main contenders for rule of the whole. Yet no realm held Catuvella long. The population that was a boon to it’s star systems was also its bane. Rebellions, revolts, uprising and other threats that came with the will of billions upon billions made Catuvella unruly for most kings.

The great powers, Gaint, Gewiss, Iken, and Angul, each staked their claims to Catuvella and Lohna, waging war in cycles as old as the stars. Even Umber and Linna, distant yet watchful, did not hesitate to send fleets into the sector when opportunity called. For centuries, Catuvella was known not as the heart of Drala, but as its wound, bleeding, contested, ever torn between would-be lords.

Yet the wheel turned, as it always does.

Under the Star Commonwealth of Drala, the sector has been reforged. No longer merely a battleground, it has become the economic engine of the nebula, its vaults swollen, its trade routes endless, its stars thick with life and power. Some call Lohna the unofficial capital of the Star Commonwealth. Officially, that honor still lies with the world of Belgar, but such declarations ring hollow when compared to Lohna’s luminous sprawl.

And here, as ever, I caution the reader, power breeds envy, and prosperity invites peril. The past is not past. In the whispering halls of Elge’s sanctuaries, in the shadowed heights of House Umbra Frostborn’s holds, in the shattered kingdoms beneath the stars, there are those who remember Catuvella not as a crown, but as a battlefield. They remember, and they wait.
